Happy Birthday, America! While you may be getting on in years (you’re a stately 238 this year, congrats), you’ve still retained your sense of independence and fun, which is what we love about you. And while the Senate might frown on the use of wearing reproductions of the American flag on your clothes and accessories, we do not. We believe in life, liberty, and right to wear flag prints. In honor of your special day, we've rounded up a bevy of of babes, each wearing their own interpretation of Americana. Just a note. This roundup is best accompanied by a patriotic soundtrack and any of the following: a hot dog, a hamburger, and/or a sparkler. So, without further ado...
BRITNEY SPEARS

Remember in 2000 when Britney Spears was on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing lace-up red leather pants and a midriff baring flag-printed halter top? Man, they grow up so fast, don't they?
KATY PERRY
Katy Perry in 2013 and 2010.

Katy Perry might be the most patriotic celeb there is (minus Springsteen because—really—no contest). The "Dark Horse" singer has done just about everything you can do: hang out with VP Joe Biden, offered to pen a theme song for Hillary Clinton, performed at Obama's campaign rally in 2012 in a spandex ballot dress, and performed for our servicemen at the "VH1 Divas Salute the Troops" concert in 2010 in a pair of hot pants, thigh-high white boots, and a flag halter top. Bruce? You might have some competition after all.
BEYONCE

Queen Bey isn't exactly slouching in the civic duty department either. She's released a cover of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" to benefit 9/11 families, and sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl and at President's Obama's second inauguration. She's also joined First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" campaign. Did I mention they're besties?
My favorite Yonce, though, is low-key Bey. Last year, she uploaded a few photos of herself leaning low-key against a luxury vehicle (as you do) wearing screen-printed denim shorts with the American flag on them along with some killer red shades. Bey also managed a downright subtle nod to America on her nails in the video for "Telephone."
LADY GAGA

Speaking of Gaga, Mother Monster not only wore an amazing stars and stripes bandana, bustier, and matching bottoms with five-finger half gloves from Patricia Field in "Telephone," but she also wore some pretty serious silver boots as well. More shocking however is her appearance at the #4the14K Rally where she spoke to a crowd in Portland to eliminate the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy; Gaga's "straight" (pun intended) appearance in a sedate suit-and-flag tie only reinforced the severity of her feelings towards the hot topic issue. Those wanting to hear the speech can listen to it in full here.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD

Carrie Underwood sure likes to accessorize Old Glory doesn't she? In 2012, the country star wore sparkly silver shorts, layers of draped mixed-metal necklaces, and bracelets on her wrist during the CMA Music Festival. Previously, we saw her in a corset top (and coordinating sweatbands) holding the stars and stripes close to her heart at the 2006 All-Star Game in Houston.
JESSICA SIMPSON

Pop star turned fashion mogul Jessica Simpson appeared on a July 2008 cover of GQ in a star-spangled bikini, dog tags, camouflage pants, and a blindingly white smile.
KATE UPTON
Kate Upton for 'GQ' magazine.

Not only is Kate Upton a Sports Illustrated model and actress, but she's also pioneered the art of looking super glamorous in zero gravity (something I'm sure both Sally Ride and Barberella would approve of). But in the spirit of the holiday, we've got her snacking on a Rocket Pop on the July 2012 cover of GQ wearing a red-white-and-blue bikini by O'Neil and a Cartier necklace. Wait a sec—Rocket Pop? Space? We're picking up on a trend here, Kate.
KESHA

Oh sweet, silly Kesha. Sure, we like you all cleaned up in Teen Vogue and looking glamorous as hell in May 2012 V magazine's "Americana" issue wearing a sequined flag dress and cowboy boots looking like a modern day Betsy Ross. But there's still a charm in seeing the My Crazy Beautiful Life star a little grittier and rough around the edges at 2011's Wireless Fest wearing a shredded flag tee and fishnets, mostly because it reminds us of the first time we fell in love with her.
MILEY CYRUS

Miley Cyrus has an amazing patriotic musical pedigree. Her dad, Billy Ray released an album called I'm American, and her godmother Dolly Parton is a national treasure. Given that lineage, what would you do? Release a song called "Party in the U.S.A.," obviously. OH, and also have a completely bonkers stage show. Her Bangerz tour is everything that's right with America. I mean look at this: Miley's in a sequined, flag-print leotard along with both cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, in case we've forgotten that she's from Nashville. And all around her? Well, there's the Liberty Bell, Lady Liberty, Bill Clinton, and Mount Rushmore.
AZEALIA BANKS

While we're still waiting for the long-anticipated Broke with Expensive Taste from Azealia Banks we've still got her videos to watch. In "Liquorice," Banks plays a desperado facing off with another Banks! Not only that, but she rocks a star-spangled mani (while eating hot dogs because America, duh) and a serious flag-print halter top and shorts combo, both of which are accessorized with a gold chain belt and heeled, lace-up booties.
RACHEL BILSON
Rachel Bilson for 'GQ' magazine.

Rachel Bilson, you may have dated perfect male specimen Seth Cohen on TV, but I can't begrudge how cute you look in your naval-inspired Agent Provocateur bikini set and John Galliano heels. You win, you winsome little pixie. Well played, February 2008 GQ.
DESTINY'S CHILD

Kelly, can you handle this? Michelle, can you handle this? I don't think I can handle this trio of Destiny's Child outfits during the 2001 United We Stand concert. Red, white, and blue coordinating tops and those pants? Do you think they're all from the same bolt of fabric? Tina Knowles, get at me! And look, there are fireworks on Kelly's.
SOLANGE KNOWLES
Solange Knowles in 2012 and 2011.

There must be something in the water down in Houston. Not only are both Knowles girls beautiful and talented, they sure know how to put together an all-American outfit. During a trip to Marfa, Texas, in 2012, Solange wore an understated white dress with red piping with an artfully draped Levi's denim jacket.
My favorite of the two looks, however, is from 2011. We've all known that Solange is an undisputed mixmaster and here she is combining a floral top, metallic belt, and some seriously oversize hair accessories with her flag-print shorts. Wait, doesn't Bey wear similar shorts? Were these shorts procured from a shopping trip that the two made together, or is this a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants situation that we're dealing with here?
TAYLOR SWIFT
Taylor Swift in 2013.

Did you know that the Fourth of July is one of Taylor Swift's favorite holidays? Me neither. Fortunately, that's what her blog is for. Not only is T-Swift great at taking artfully composed photographs, she's also a whiz at face-painting, lighting sparklers, and looking great in separates like a cherry-print bikini and blue straw hat, along with a red, white, and blue striped T-shirt and shorts.
LILY ALDRIDGE

You know what I was thinking this list needed? More models. And who better than literal earth-angel Lily Aldridge? I'm sure that Uncle Sam would approve of the outfit worn by the Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret model during the 2012 Victoria's Secret Runway show.
RIHANNA
Rihanna in 2011.

No, that isn't Rihanna at a Fourth of July party. It's her on the set of "We Found Love." In the video, Rih wears a denim vest covered in flag-print patches over a flag-print bikini. And while Rihanna might be only person on this list who isn't ~technically~ American (but she does hold a green card!), we'll make an exception because this outfit is fire.
